Mad Media is a full service entertainment complex. Post and photos from the event are soon to come.
Fashion Ghana
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsThis video was just posted on my Facebook Wall. I was interviewed by Fashion Ghana (about 8 mins. into this video) which is a new site that will be launching on November 10, 2012. While at GFDW I was approached by one of the site's founders Nana to be a Liberia contributor. This will be the second blog that I will be writing for to put LIB on the map.

It will be a bi-monthly mag that will be published in West Africa! All content will be reported by women in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. The publication's goal is to focus on women in the above mentioned countries regarding accomplishments, politics, health, business, fashion, lifestyle, etc.
Some of the contributors for this long awaited project are Vickie Remoe from Sierra Leone of Swit Salone, Archel Benard from Liberia of It's Archel, and me! I will keep you all updated as distribution developments arise!
P.S. This is a mock cover, and the image does not belong to Go Woman Magazine.

Woodin in Liberia!
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsIs there a Woodin store coming to Liberia in the near future? Honestly, I do not have the answer to that question, but I do know that you can now purchase Woodin fabric in Liberia! A dear friend of mine has been traveling to Ghana in order to get the fabulousity known as Woodin cloth, and is now selling it here in our beloved country.
For those of you that are not familiar with the brand please allow me to give a little background info. Woodin is known as the first pan-African brand for and by Africa. The company prides its self in capturing the optimism of the modern African lifestyle, and designs trendy African prints for men and women who are young at heart. Since its birth in 1985, Woodin has conveyed combinations that blend hand drawings with a creative and confident attitude.
These are some pics that I took of the Woodin store while I was in Ghana. If you would like some of this yummy fabric please send me an email, and I will get you in contact with the distributor.
Beauty Trend: Orange Lips
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsA couple of posts down you will see the title "Orange Galor". This bright and sassy color was a true fav during GFDW, and it seems it has crept its way into being the new color of choice. In the Spring of 2011 orange, coral, and some of their other similar colored buddies reigned in the West when it came to beauty products. It seems that the trend has now come over our continent, and you know we ALWAYS do it better.
This post spotlights all of my favorite shades of the new "it color" regarding lipstick. The last pic is actually a video of Destiny Godley that features orange for lips, cheeks, and nails. This mocha beauty is known as the "Youtube Guru", and is def someone interesting to watch. For more videos of Destiny click here.

Zutin: Andrea Iyamah
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsI for one not only love this swimwear just for the look, but also because of the vintage feel of the high-waist bottoms. This is something I appreciate, for it conveys a sexy look that still covers the tummy (stomach area). I have lost a few pounds in the past couple of months, but I am in no way ready to show off all the goods just yet ; ) For more info about Andrea Iyamah click here.
Although I am not aware of any Liberian swimwear designers please note that Afropolitan on Benson St. does carry swimsuits with African detailing. Also, it is rumored that Its Archel will be adding swimwear to their collection. Will let you know more as soon as I get the scoop!
Nail Trend: Mis-Match
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsThis is probably one of my most favorite manicures of all time. Provided by Zutin Nails on Buchanan St. I wish I could share the name of the pink polish with you, but unfortunately the sticker was missing from the bottom (don't you hate when that happens?). My pinky finger is sporting a black polish with White Shatter over top. I came up with the concept myself. What do we think?
Liberian Model Bennetta Guindo Graces GFDW
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsOk, ok so I know I have been posting about GFDW for what seems like forever, but I promise this is the last one. This post features Liberian model Bennetta Guindo. I was super excited, not to mention surprised when I first saw Bennetta coming down the runway at the Movenpick. It has to be said that she totally “repped” LIB to the fullest. Her fierce walk and intense face had me thinking only one thing “Yassssss girl you better WERK”. After the show I found out that she was actually casted through pictures that were seen online by the producers. Ms. Guindo is a well known model here, and has been seen on the catwalks of the Liberian Fashion & Art Expo, the Couture on the Blue fashion show and many others. Bennetta, I know I already told you this backstage, but once again thanks for making Liberia proud!
AFG- Organic African Cotton T-Shirt
October AFG Feature
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsThis is a pic of my editor Jacqueline Shaw of African Fashion Guide (AFG) and me. As mentioned in a previous post AFG showcased their 100% organic African T-shirts at GFDW. The line was so hot and I for one was truly proud of it. Please check out my October article by clicking here.
Titillating Tie Dye
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsHere is my outfit for day two of GFDW. Since I went a little edgy on the first day I decided to go classic on the next. This skirt in tie dye was crafted by my tailor over a year ago. I threw on a crisp white button up, and my infamous gold belt and blue suede pumps.

Pretty in Peplum
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsHello Loves! I hope you all have been enjoying my posts from GFDW. The experience was to die for in so many ways. Not only was I surrounded by so many of my fellow stylish Africans, but I also got the chance to view beautiful fashion (and men *wink*) all while networking with professionals in the fashion industry. This is what I wore on day one of the events. I wanted a peplum blazer in African print so badly, so luckily my friend Archel of It's Archel was able to whip this up for me a week or so before I traveled. I paired it with these green-blue stone washed ankle jeans and my new fav BCBG platforms. With my gold accessories and my chain flap bag I was ready to go!
Blazer- It's Archel
Ankle Jeans- Forever 21
Platforms- BCBG
