Braid My Hair
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsHello Loves! So, this post focuses on the braided styles that I put my hair in when I'm a little tired of tending to my natural crown. The following pics will show styles that I have had over the last year which are always and forever will be done by my hair stylist Ruth. She is the owner of Elegance Beauty Salon and Spa located on Capitol Bye-Pass. The pic above shows how my hair is braided currently. Excuse the "kitchen" in the back of my head. The style is a couple of weeks old.
The styles you will see here are pretty bold, for I like drama when it comes to how I look. The thing I love most about Ruth is that when I come up with these styles in my head, she is able to bring them to life looking exactly how I pictured them. She's pretty much a genius when it comes to hair styling of any kind. If you are interested in contacting Ruth for looks like these, or even something a little less daring just leave a comment and I'll be happy to send you her contact.

Zutin: Cott'n Candy Beaded Bracelets
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsHello Loves! So, a buddy of mine has recently started a beaded bracelet line. After checking out her site Cott'n Candy.com I came across some of these beautiful pieces. Candy (the designer) says "[She] dreamed of making an accessory line that defines [her] imagination by making pieces that were affordable to everybody." All of the pieces are hand made by Candy herself. So far, there are only bracelets available on the site but, it was mentioned that chains will soon be added to the line. Check it out!
Zutin: My Love for African (Tribal) Print Shoes
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsOk so, this trend has been on the scene for a little while, but when Liberian designers are producing something hot it is my duty to showcase it to the world. Pictured above are hand covered lapa (what we Liberian call African cloth) shoes by Liberian fashion designer Laurice Kante of Sorayah Laurice Designs. These pairs were worn by the models of the Couture on the Blue Fashion Show, and were a smash hit!

Couture on the Blue Fashion Show
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsThe pics from the Couture on the Blue Fashion Show are finally here. The fact the event is over and done with is bittersweet. I had an awesome time serving as the Event Coordinator for this exclusive evening, but to say it was a little stressful would be and understatement. Pictured above from left to right is Stefanie Buttner (Show Producer), Laurice Kante (Headline Designer), Marjean Sherman (Show Producer), and Yours Truly. The night was beyond successful and Liberia is more than anxious to see something like it again soon. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors Lonestar Cell, Money Gram and Arik Airlines!

Walk About: Girls Night at Blue House Restaurant
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsA while ago me and some of my favorite gal pals had a Girls Night at the new Blue House Restaurant in Congotown. The decor was absolutely fab, but unfortunately I can't say the same about the service. I had the T-bone steak as my entree, though it was a hardy serving size it seems the chef got a little heavy handed with the salt. The restaurant is only about 2 months old so we will give it some time to grow. Always good times with my girls regardless!
My meal...
I kept my outfit simple with a super short patterned dress (gifted), gold hoop earrings, bangle, and chain belt along with my favorite black, wooden heeled sandals from Lulus.
Goodbye from the girlies!
Walk About: Miss Liberia Pageant 2012
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsThe Miss Liberia Pageant will now be taking place on Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Executive Pavilion on Broad St. The show will begin at 7:30pm and the "Blue Carpet" will start at 6pm. Hope to see you there!
What to Wear: Easter Sunday
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsI haven't done a What to Wear post in a while, so since Easter is day after tomorrow I thought it would be nice to do a chic spin on an Easter Sunday look.
A bright colored dress with incredible texture like the Marazetti number pictured above will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Edge up your look with a pair of fierce colored peek toe pumps, a bold necklace and a metallic clutch. Top off the look with a natural but noticeable nail color. Just because its Easter doesn't mean you can't be sassy. Have fun with your look!

Walk About: Nappturality Party
Posted by Unknown 0 commentsBelow are the pictures from the Nappturality Party that I have been talking about since last month. We had such a good time. The event was very informative and full of goodies. Above is a pic of the host Shoana Cachelle and her glam squad. While there we were informed that Shoana plans to open a natural hair salon very soon, so stay tuned for details!

We had the opportunity to pick from a basket and share the 20 reasons one should go natural. I was #11. Hope you all can read it!
Product Sharing: We were asked to bring hair products and tips that we use regularly, and passed them around for others to see and read about.
Shoana shared her hair journey through PowerPoint and also some styling tips for naturalistas with locs. GOOD TIMES!
