What To Wear: Easter Sunday

So is everybody ready for Easter Sunday? As a child I really loved this holiday with the Easter Egg Hunts at school and the beautiful Easter baskets my grandmother used to custom make for me. Now, Easter is a time for praise, worship, family and food!
The above Tulip Dress is from one of my fave Liberian brands Suakoko Betty. I love the cinched waist and of course the print pattern that is revealed here. The cut and shape are more than appropriate for a morning at church where you can be made to feel classy, comfortable and modest. Spice up a look like this with eye-catching yet minimal accessories, a fun Easter color inspired manicure, a pink pout, and an amazing fragrance. I received this Viva Rock perfume as a birthday gift, so I can say first hand that it smells wonderful. Pick one up today at Elle on Broad St. Happy Easter in advance!

What To Wear: Your Birthday Party

My birthday is next week and though I feel like I’m getting older I know that the older I get the closer I get to what I really want out of life. My party is going to be fab and I want to be just was fierce. Originally I planned for my party colors this year to be silver and pink, so I decided to base this collection on the same accord. If your B Day is coming up soon keep in mind to wear something that will stand out from the crowd. You can either do a sequence number like this, or wear a color that you know nobody would likely wear. As “princess for the day” I prefer to sport a dress, but one can look equally as sexy in almost anything once you have the confidence to pull it off. Edgy jewelry will always be an attention grabber. If opting for a bold eye like I have suggested here, make sure to keep the lips neutral, and vice versa. If you know me, you know I LIVE for a statement manicure. I’m still concocting what to do to my nails for the big day! Lastly, top your look off with fragrance that will last all night and keep reminding you how special you are.

What To Wear: The Color of the Year

What To Wear: The Color of the Year

What To Wear: The Color of the Year by charm08 featuring Emerald Green
Today's "What to Wear" post features the color of the year, Emerald Green. Pantone is the official color authority of the world (seriously) and they have determined that 2013 is the year of emerald. I'm sure those of you who got a chance to watch the 2013 U.S. Presidential Inauguration saw Beyonce bluffing in her desperate emerald earrings and matching ring. The bling was redic!

I have put together a few fab pieces above to get your creative juices flowing if in the position of figuring out where to go with this color. The main thing to keep in mind is not to over do it. In my opinion it would be odd to be seen in and entire green ensemble. Break up the color with neutrals like black and white, or carry out a bight look by adding colors like pink or purple. Have fun with this, for before you know it 2014 will be here with a brand new color for us try.

What To Wear: Valentine's Day

What To Wear: Valentine's Day

Ok all you fyne geh dem, Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Please feel free to leave your plans in below comments, so I can live vicariously through them. LOL. I personally don't like the color red, so I chose this beautiful pink dress which I feel screams V-Day. The sweetheart neckline is perfect for the occasion, and the way the black goes into a "V" gives off the illusion of a heart. Do you see it? A sexy pair of heels are a must to keep your partner intrigued all night long. A fun manicure and red lip are true confidence boosters, and helps in making you feel super vampy. Accessorise with minimalistic gold pieces and a clutch that pops. We all know that the first thing that attracts us to another person (even before looks) is smell, so a sexy sent is last but not least in topping off this alluring look.

What to Wear: November 29th

Ok My People, November 29 is just a few days away, so we all know what that means. DRY SEASON IS HERE! The 29th is the official beach day here in Liberia, and I look forward to this every year. Hopefully most of us have been working on our beach bodies this rainy season and are ready to show them off. For this post I chose this exquisite body hugging fishtail maxi skirt. Just because it is long does not mean that it is not sexy especially when paired with a bikini top like what I have here. Chunky jewelry always makes a statement, and adds to that beachy look. Unfortunately, we know that in Liberia holidays are not only a time of enjoyment, but also a time when the rouges are rampant. With this said I suggest we wear bags that can be worn close to the body like this yummy pink shoulder bag that is totally on trend. Top your look off with a pair of desperate sunglasses and you are ready for Tubman’s b-day. Have fun, I know I will!

What to Wear: Leather in Liberia

What to Wear: Leather in Liberia

A major Fall/Autumn trend in the West right now is leather. Some of the most popular leather pieces worldwide are leather jackets, leather boots, and leather pants. Although these are both chic and timeless items, unfortunately Liberia’s warm climate does not allow for us to wear them. I know you are probably thinking I don’t care if I get hot I want to look sharp, but the truth is even if you have on the most fabulous leather jacket in Africa, you will just look silly. Leather pieces (mainly black) automatically look “cool” as in they should only be worn when it’s cold.
This does not mean that we cannot wear leather at all in Liberia, it just means that you have to be smart when it comes to choosing and wearing leather. I have chosen some leather looks here that are perfect for us Liberian girls. Notice how I chose items that are in bright colors. These items look “warm” and therefore can be worn in the warm weather. I suggest that the black leather skirt I picked be worn ONLY AT NIGHT. Everything else can be worn any time of day. Also, consider that there at different types of leather, suede, patent leather and vegan leather just to name a few. This way you can diversify your looks.

Everything that I featured here are products from the West, but we all know that we can find wonderful leather items in Waterside and in DK. Its Archel also makes beautiful made in Liberia leather products.
P.S. The item list carries some very expensive items. In no way am I suggesting that you get pieces as expensive as these, they are just examples, and honestly only a small population of people in the WORLD can afford them. I am not one of them…LOL!

What To Wear: Dry Season 2012/2013

Ok all you fyne geh dem! Dry Season is fast approaching, so it is time to start preparing ourselves for the beach and sun. This "What to Wear" post shows some essentials for looking and feeling sexy this summer. A floppy beach hat is something that every girl needs to be fashion forward as well as protected from the harsh rays of the sun. I also added a chic umbrella, and sun block to the mix to assist in doing the above mentioned. Neon was a huge trend in the West during the Spring time months, so now that we will be in warm weather I suggest we jump on the bandwagon. Cat eye sunglasses made their debut in the 1950's and 60's and have made a major comeback in our era, so make sure to add these to your shopping list. I love this bikini due to the fact that it is reminiscent of a print you would find on a lappa down Waterside. Though the sun will add a little color and a glow to everyone body shimmer will help in giving you a little extra boost of bronze. I already did a post about orange lips so no explaining there. Lastly, a straw beach bag is imperative in not only holding your items, but also in keeping them dry in the occurrence of a big wave hitting the sand. Dis Dry Season weh nah be e-say!

Sexy Singles' Night Out

Sexy Singles' Night Out

This post is for all my (dare I use the phrase) “Single Ladies”. Since recently becoming a part of the demographic I am coping with going out alone or with my fabulous friends. With this said, here is your dose of what can be worn on a “Sexy Single Night Out”. I chose this sexy metallic dress which I find to be a serious show stopper. A dress like this will have everyone’s eyes on you and your hot body. I love these shoes mainly for the color, but mostly for the little gold skull above the peep toe. I like to think that it belongs to my ex (a little morbid? Sorry, but we all know how that goes) either way these heels kill ;0). Every girl likes chunky jewelry, well at least I do, they make a statement every time. This heart shape clutch is so sweet, and can be used as a reminder that love will come into your life again. Smokey eyes add a little bit of danger to your look, and falsies easily sexes up the eyes. With metallic nails and a pink pout you, Ms. Sexiness, are ready for a night out on the town. Enjoy!

What To Wear: Anniversary Date Night

What To Wear: Anniversary Date Night

Hello Loves! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our two year anniversary on the 16th of this month. Though I don't know what he has planned yet, I just wanted to give you all an idea of what I may throw on for such an occasion. You can never go wrong with a body-con dress. These are great for sucking everything in and making any body type look super sexy. A jeweled bag always makes a statement with earrings that compliment. I chose a colored shoe here to add some flavor, and toped it off with a pink pout. An outfit like this will surely remind your better half why they fell for you in the first place!

What to Wear: Easter Sunday

I haven't done a What to Wear post in a while, so since Easter is day after tomorrow I thought it would be nice to do a chic spin on an Easter Sunday look.

A bright colored dress with incredible texture like the Marazetti number pictured above will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Edge up your look with a pair of fierce colored peek toe pumps, a bold necklace and a metallic clutch. Top off the look with a natural but noticeable nail color. Just because its Easter doesn't mean you can't be sassy. Have fun with your look!

What to Wear: Drinks with the Girls

Hey there my beloved readers. I am so excited about all of my ideas for new additions to the blog. I have decided to give my advice on cute outfits ideas for different occasions. The post will be called "What to Wear" and we will start off with Drinks with the Girls. Keep it simple with a curve hugging dress, simple hoops, sleek clutch, and animal print shoes. I personally am a fan of coral, but if it doesn't work for you then set your outfit off with a nude lip color and bold polish.
